Higley’s newest school, Bridges, opens for students
 
Higley Unified School District held a ribbon cutting ceremony in July for Bridges Elementary School, the 13th campus for the district and the ninth elementary school to open in Higley.

The ceremony was held with Bridges families, students and teachers, Special guests included the HUSD governing board, Town of Gilbert dignitaries, HUSD cabinet members and representatives from CORE Construction and Hunt & Caraway Architects.

Students were welcomed by Superintendent Dr. Mike Thomason. He also who introduced speakers Mayor Jenn Daniels, Principal Sherry Richards, Board President Kristina Reese and representatives from CORE Construction and Hunt & Caraway Architects.

“I hope you can see the support and energy put into the creation of Bridges Elementary School. This campus was created to be a place of learning and community. To all our Bridges families and students, we are ready to see all that will be accomplished in the walls of this building. We know we will hear great things. And to all Bridges staff and teachers, thank you for coming together to take on the great challenge of opening a new campus. Your time, dedication and vision are an inspiration to us all.,” Thomason said.
 
The teachers left the room first to cheers and applause.
