Cooley athletics ends successful first quarter

The Cooley Middle School athletic programs had the most successful quarter of sports in the school’s short history.  Four of Cooley’s five teams won at least one playoff game. Two CMS teams (8th grade baseball and flag football) won two playoff games, reaching  the East Valley Conference semi-finals.

The seventh-grade volleyball team had a record of 5 wins and 4 losses, ending in 6th place.

The eighth-grade volleyball team had a record of 4 wins and 6 losses, ending in 7th place.

The seventh-grade baseball team had a record of 3 wins and 7 losses, ending in 8th place.

The eighth-grade baseball team ended with a record of 5 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie.

The eighth-grade team had a nice post-season run, defeating the second-seed team from San Tan to reach the semi-finals.

The flag football team had a record of 9 wins and 2 losses, finishing in second place for the East Valley Conference.

The football team lost to a tough Payne team in the semi-finals, completing the most successful football season in Cooley history.
