District, school offices closed for spring break
The Higley Unified School District main office and all school offices will be closed Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 24.
All offices will reopen Monday, March 27
Classes will resume Tuesday, March 28.
Families can reach Kids Club/Spring Break camp at Centennial Elementary at 480.318.1963 beginning Monday, March 13.
Curriculum review now open for public comment
The Higley Unified School District is excited to adopt a new K-12 English Language Arts curriculum, which will be introduced to students in the 2017-18 school year. These materials will support our teachers in teaching the state standards in reading and language arts, as well as provide materials to support students at all levels of instruction. Our teachers will no longer need to spend valuable time finding support materials, but can instead spend their time choosing which available materials are appropriate to teach each child. A districtwide committee met this year to review materials from three national publishing companies and selected the publisher it felt best met the needs of the district’s teachers and students. As per Board policy, these materials are now on display for 60 days in the district office for parents and community members to view. If you are interested in viewing these materials and providing your feedback, please come to the district office at 2935 S. Recker during regular office hours. Materials will be available for review until April 14. Higley High’s Class of 2017 graduation will take place 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at ASU’s Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. No tickets required to attend. Further information will be available in the spring.

If you've had a change in address or a change in your household, please update your email address, unsubscribe, or register for a new school to receive email notifications from schools, Community Education (including Kids Club), and the District.
Email information could include communication about emergency situations, registration information and upcoming events.

Register My Athlete
In an attempt to streamline the athletic clearance process, Higley High School is going paperless. Using the enclosed instructions, you will now complete the athletic clearance packet electronically at Register My Athlete.com. All forms can be viewed and signed electronically, and additional required forms (i.e.-physical forms, etc.) can be uploaded to your account. Please follow the enclosed instructions to register your students for athletic clearance, for the 2016-2017 academic school year. Support Higley High and receive up to $400 AZ Tax Credit
The state of Arizona allows you to receive a tax credit of up to $200 ($400 if married and filing jointly) when you make an ECA tax credit donation to our school. We will use your tax dollar donation to help fund extra curricular activities and opportunities for our students to extend their learning beyond the regular school day and you will get a dollar-for-dollar credit towards your tax return. Before and after school tutoring, school clubs and field trip experiences are just a few of the enrichment programs that are made possible when ECA funds are donated to our school. Please name Higley High School as the recipient of your donation so that we may provide quality enrichment programs like these for our learners. We appreciate your support and are dedicated to spending your tax dollars responsibly.
