Dear Chaparral Community,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!
It is truly an honor to be the Principal of Chaparral Elementary School! I am very excited and am looking forward to continue working with the students, staff and parents of such an amazing community.
This is my 15th year working as an educator. I have worked as a classroom teacher, Curriculum Specialist, Language Support Specialist and an Administrator at both elementary and middle school capacities. This is my seventh year as an Administrator and I am proud to have served the past three years as Chaparral’s Assistant Principal.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Education Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision. I hold endorsements in Early Childhood Education, K-12
Reading Specialist, English as a Second Language and Structured English Immersion.
The administration and staff at Chaparral are committed to provide all of our students with best instructional practices that will lay the foundation to become life-long learners, as well as prepare them for the transition to middle school. In addition, we will continue to encourage all students, staff and parents to cultivate a Growth Mindset. In a growth mindset, people believe they can develop their abilities and learn anything through persistence and hard work. -  You Can Learn Anything
Student safety is our first priority. The beginning and the ending of the school day can be both exciting and hectic, especially in the parent drop off/pick up area. To keep traffic flowing, drivers are asked to stay in their cars and pull forward at each opportunity. We thank you, in advance, for your patience as we manage increased volume of traffic, limited parking spaces and extra patrols from the Gilbert Police Department.
Communicating with parents is essential for our school. Please join our Email Communication for the most up-to-date information available through e-mail. Click here to sign up. Our teachers will utilize e-mail correspondence whenever possible. To promote going green, we will continue sending out newsletters and important information via e-mail.
It is exciting to be a part of such an amazing community and I look forward to continuing strong and positive relationships with our students, staff, and families of the Chaparral community.
