Welcome to the Book Club!! The purpose of this club is to provide an opportunity to celebrate and foster a love of books outside the classroom. Students meet bi-monthly (sometimes more) to discuss a book they have collectively read and analyze the text. A new book is chosen at each meeting by the students. It is a book they want to read for the pure joy of it, but for so many of us, reading is an EXPERIENCE-an experience made richer in the sharing. So come; read, relax, enjoy, and share some great experiences!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at email@example.com. Sign up to receive reminders and information via text through Remind.com, too! To receive messages via text, text @wfhsbooks to 81010. You may opt-out of messages at anytime by replying 'unsubscribe @wfhsbooks'. Trouble using 81010? Try texting @wfhsbooks to (623) 552-2758 instead.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to our first meeting! We introduced club officers, chose the first book, and set up the next meeting. Members will be reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Our goal is to obtain a copy and begin reading, so we can meet on Friday, August 28th. We are not expecting to have finished the book by this time, only have begun reading. We'll see you there! Sign up for our Remind if you haven't yet.
Our first meeting will take place in Room 202 on Friday, August 7th at 2:20PM. We will discuss membership, activities for the upcoming year, and select our first book!
