Students working in the Career Center

GOOD NEWS:
Seniors can now complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in October 2016. Being able to do this so early will assist students and parents to determine federal funding for college earlier than ever before. Visit the website below for more information:
https://fafsa.ed.gov/

The FAFSA is an electronic form. In order to "SIGN" it you need create an FSA ID number. Student and one parent need to apply for an FSA ID number.

Gilbert Parks & Recreation has a number of areas where they need help:

The Career Center at Williams Field High School is a resource center designed for students to obtain information regarding post high school planning. Whether the student is planning for university, community college, the military service or a technical/trade school the Career Center offers information on:

• Scholarships
• Financial Aid (FAFSA)
• Vocational Training
• ACT/SAT Information
• Career Inventories
• Applying for jobs/interview techniques
• Volunteer/community service opportunities

In addition to these services, we also provide college bound students with the opportunity to meet with university and college representatives to discuss the admissions process. Seniors are highly encouraged to sign up for these presentations.  Sign up sheets are located in the Career Center and the presentations are typically scheduled during 2nd or 3rd hour. Passes are sent out to those students that have signed up for a particular school presentation.
The Career Center advertises college visits and scholarship opportunities that may include: E-Alert, school website, daily announcements and bulletins issued by the Career Center Department.
