|I am thrilled to be joining the Gator family this year! This will be my 9th year as an educator. My passion for teaching and learning began as a child and is still the guiding factor in my life, as I come from a family of educators. I’m an Arizona Wildcat, with a degree in Physical Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. For the last four years, I have been an assistant principal in the Vail Unified School District.
While playing collegiate soccer and winning a PAC-10 Championship for The University of Arizona, I met my husband, Gilbert Harris, who played football for the Wildcats and for the Kansas City Chiefs. Last year, we welcomed a son, Sterling. We enjoy going to the zoo, working out, watching movies, and taking our dogs (Kingston and Harlow) on walks.
I believe the connection between home and school is very important to the success of your child’s education. Each child is a special gift and can learn and grow when given the correct tools. It is my job as an educator to give children these tools along with a safe and nurturing environment so that they can reach their fullest potential. Children are our future!
I am looking forward to this adventure together and working with you to continue Gateway Pointe’s traditions! I love communicating with parents and can’t wait to spend the new school year getting to know you! It is very important for families to be involved in their child’s education, so if you need anything, please feel free to contact me anytime.
