Kindergarten students in classroom

Kindergarten Choices

Higley Unified School District offers programs that lay the foundation for learning in all our kindergarten classrooms. Caring, certified, early-childhood educators (or those seeking early childhood endorsements) teach all classes. Students participate in physical education, art, music and library. Each school also offers before- and after-school care by dedicated staff.

Families may choose to enroll in one of our highly successful neighborhood schools or seek open enrollment to participate in a program of choice, including Mandarin Immersion, Spanish Immersion or our back-to-basics Higley Traditional Academy. Families may also seek open enrollment at Bridges Elementary School, where all grade levels follow the project-based learning model for hands-on education.

Staff review open enrollment applications year round, with admission based on space availability. Priority is given to families that submit applications by Feb. 1.

Learn more during Kindergarten Round-Up, to be held 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at all elementary schools.
